Privacy Policy
The short version: you can use Portigo without an account, and browsing collects nothing about you personally. If you give us your email for a notification, we store it with a consent record and send nothing until the feature you signed up for actually launches. We never sell data, and we never ask for your ACE or portal credentials.

No accounts, no payments
Portigo has no user accounts, no logins, and no payment processing. You never create a profile, and we never ask for — and will never ask for — your ACE Portal login, customs account details, or any password.
What we collect, and when
Browsing: nothing personal. We run no analytics scripts, no ad trackers, and no tracking cookies.
Email signups: if you ask to be notified about something — for example, CAPE Phase 2 opening, or a tariff-rate change — we store the email address you give us, the page you signed up from, and a consent record (when you signed up and which consent wording applied). For a rate-change watch we also store a snapshot of the rates at signup so a future alert can say what changed. These signups capture intent only: we send no email today. Before any alerts ever start, we will send a single verification email, and you can confirm or unsubscribe then. Every signup carries its own unsubscribe token so one-click unsubscribe works from the first email we ever send. Want your address removed sooner? Email us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
AI suggestions (currently off): the search page offers an optional "suggest HTS codes with AI" feature, which is not enabled at launch. If you use it while it is off, nothing is processed. If we enable it later, the product description you type is sent to our AI provider to generate suggestions, and we log the request's cost and timing along with a hashed IP and an anonymous session identifier — not your name or email, which we would not have.
IP addresses
Where the application records anything tied to your connection — a signup consent record, or an AI-request log — it stores a truncated one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself. The application never stores your raw IP. Like every website, the infrastructure that serves Portigo (our hosting and content-delivery providers) processes IP addresses in transit and may keep standard server logs.
Cookies
Portigo sets at most one cookie: an anonymous rate-limit identifier
(portigo_sid) that exists only to prevent abuse of the AI-suggestion feature.
It is set only if you use that feature's button, contains a random identifier and nothing
about you, and is not used for tracking or advertising. Plain browsing sets no cookies.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your email with anyone except the service providers that store our database, and only so the site can function.
Data removal
To have any data we hold about you deleted — an email signup, for instance — contact [email protected] and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date. Signup consent records note which version of our consent wording applied at the time.
